Flute Body Maker

The Wm. S. Haynes Company is seeking a full-time, in-house flute body maker. The person in this position will be responsible for constructing bodies out of precious metals that meet structural and cosmetic standards. While experience making flute bodies is preferred, we will train the right candidate. 

Responsibilities

• Build flute bodies from precious metals, following specific dimensional and aesthetic criteria

• Maintenance of tools used in body making

• Silver Brazing and soft soldering

• Work with traditional machine shop equipment (lathe, mill, grinder etc.)

• Cross training opportunities available

Qualifications

• An enthusiasm for the craft and meticulous attention to detail

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Trained as a custom flute body maker or equivalent experience in instrument manufacturing

• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make improvements upon receiving feedback

• Ability and willingness to communicate and collaborate with team members

• Prior work experience preferred

Employment Type: Full-Time 

Compensation: Starting at $25/hour to $31.25/hour, commensurate with experience. Bi-weekly pay schedule.
